What happens when you come in
Both ears are looked at first, under magnification. If there is wax there, it comes out at the same appointment with a fine, low-pressure suction tube — no water, nothing pushed further in.
If there is very little wax there, you are told that. That happens more often than people expect, and it is a better outcome than a procedure you did not need.
Softening the wax beforehand can sometimes help, but it isn’t always necessary.
