What the appointment is like
You sit in a chair under a good light. Both ears are looked at first, under magnification, before anything is done — sometimes the answer is that there is very little wax there, and you get told that rather than sold a procedure.
If it is wax, it comes out at the same appointment with a fine, low-pressure suction tube. No water is used and nothing is pushed further in.
Softening the wax beforehand can sometimes help, but it isn’t always necessary.

Clinic appointments are arranged on the phone rather than booked online, so you get to say what the problem is before you travel.
